Selfie expert on a budget, OPPO reveals the A37

OPPO‘s selfie experts, F1 and F1 Plus, have both been on the pricier side of things. The good news was that they both came with a nice premium design that’s great to hold in the hand. But, not everyone can swallow the rather premium price tag that those smartphones come with.

If you like the look and feel of the F1 and F1 Plus but can’t afford it, OPPO’s new A37 might be more up your alley.

When it comes to looks, the OPPO A37 sports a similar design language as the more expensive selfie experts with a thin profile and a smooth subtly curved back. It even shares the same colouring theme with gold/rose gold on the back and a glossy white surface in front. So premium looks are a check.

Performance wise, the 5-inch smartphone has an HD 720p IPS display tucked under Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 on the front with a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor mated to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage on the inside. Good news is that there is a dedicated microSD card slot for you to expand storage up to 128GB of extra memory.

In the camera department, the A37 comes with an 8MP/5MP camera combo. In front, the selfie snapper gets a lot of the goodies you’d find on the higher end selfie experts including beautification, Screen Flash and Palm Shutter for those perfect selfies. The rear camera is pretty stacked with features too, including an Ultra HD mode that takes and combines five separate photos into one detailed 24MP image.

Keeping the lights in the dual-SIM 4G LTE device is a 2,630 mAh battery. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, 2,4GHz WiFi, GPS, and OTG support. OPPO’s new smartphone will come running colorOS 3.0, a skin that we quite liked on the OPPO F1 Plus.

The OPPO A37 will go on sale for RM798 starting today and you can pick one up from OPPO’s online store.
