ASUS’s VR headset looks like a pair of steampunk goggles

ASUS made a big announcement today, revealing a whole new lineup of ZenFone products, a new ZenBook, a new Transformer and a new home robot. But, ASUS also had this awesome looking VR headset tucked away in a glass display box.

If you’re looking at the headpiece of the ASUS VR itself, it looks pretty similar to something like a Gear VR or even Huawei’s new VR goggles. However, the ASUS VR’s leather straps and white stitching gives the overall look a steampunk vibe that’s pretty cool looking.

Around the right side, we see what looks like controls that are very similar to the Huawei VR with a touchpad and three buttons. A quick chat with ASUS reveals that this headset is designed to work with the ZenFone 3 Deluxe edition, though we don’t have much more information beyond that.

Either way, it looks pretty cool though we don’t have any information on when this headset will be officially released.
