All you need to know about the Xiaomi Mi 5, including another spec sheet leak

The Chinese manufacturer will be making their first major Western showing but have they really choose the right device to do so? We’ll find out by the 24th of February. But for those who can’t wait, we’ll just share some rumoured specs just to please the people out there.

Adding some tongue and cheek to the whole situation is the way the spec sheet was photographed – looking more like a side dish to the rice grains in the photo. Xiaomi’s Mi 5 internal listing is pretty much all bare, aside from some exceptions.

Xiaomi’s 2016 flagship smartphone is supposed to have the following specifications:

Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor that’s clocked to 2.15GHz
5.15-inch display
16-megapixel rear camera with OIS and laser focus
4-megapixel (ultra-pixel) front sensor
3,000 mAh battery
USB Type-C

Other than what’s listed on the paper, people have claimed that it’ll have 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The rear of the devices has been seen to come in either glass or an all metal variety, suggesting that the rear backings will dictate the low to high-end spec variants.

Based on older leaks, this will the price range of the different versions:

Metal Design – 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage – 2,199 (RM1,435)
Metal Design – 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage – 2,599 (RM1,695)
Glass Design – 2K Display + 4GB RAM + 32GB Storage – 2,799 (RM1,826)
Glass Design – 2K Display + 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage – 3,099 (RM2,022)

Meanwhile, what we can confirm would be the Mi 5 arriving with Dual-SIM 4G LTE and NFC – shown in an official teaser by their co-founder Lei Jun.

From the sound of things, we’d like to hope that everything holds true and the device becomes Xiaomi’s best yet. ‘Cause in all honestly, we love it when Chinese manufacturers chip away at the large pieces of the pie that are dominated by Samsung and Apple.
