Xiaomi has rolled out a major update since the release of its new MIUI 7 operating system. Weighing slightly below 200MB, the MIUI 7.1 Global Stable update brings a couple of new features along with its standard bug fixes. It is available now via OTA update for the Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Mi 4i, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi Note 3G/4G, Redmi Note 2 and the Mi Pad.

If you haven’t gotten any notification yet, you can try checking manually under Settings > About Phone > System Updates. If you still can’t get it, another option is to download the update manually from the official MIUI 7.1 forum thread. Some of the notable changes include a new Fleksy Keyboard being installed by default, a new Mi Drop shortcut in the drop down notifications panel and improved native web browser.

For the Mi 4i and the Redmi Note 2, both are still based on Android Lollipop 5.0.2. The Mi Note, however, is still stuck with Android 4.4.4 KitKat after the update. You can read the full changelog of MIUI 7.1 over here.
