Huawei blings-out its Watch for the ladies with Swarovski crystals

Say hello to two new editions to the existing Huawei Watch lineup: the Jewel and the Elegant. Made to reflect a more feminine tone, the two watches now have larger bezels and a wider diameter – an odd decision for the ladies out there that tend to have smaller wrists than their male counterparts.

Appealing women by plastering 68 Swarovski crystals along the bezels for the Jewel, the Elegant is more subtle with just a rose-gold plated outer ring matched with etched knurling patterns. Both have the same sapphire glass protecting the watch face (as the manlier option) but the two women models get their diameters increased to 44mm from 42mm and are overall larger.

The extra bezels were probably added to make way for those crystals, I mean, they had to go somewhere right? Granting all this, the straps for these two models get slimmed down to 18mm, so it “might” look better suited for ladies when they put it on; we sure hope so.

Its AMOLED screen size remains the same on the two, even with all that extra bling on the Jewel – at 1.4-inches (400 x 400 resolution). Engadget lists these countries to receive the Watch Jewel and Watch Elegant beginning in March:

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Norway, Philippines, Russia, (our neighbours) Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, United Kingdom and the United States.

Battery life is promised to last you about one and a half days and it’ll be compatible with Android and iOS devices. They’ll retail for US$ 599 (RM 2,626)  – Jewel and US$ 499 (RM 2,189)  – Elegant.

Oh, and do share with us what you think of their given names; we’re still not quite over them yet…
