Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has officially landed in Malaysia

The Surface Pro 4 is Microsoft’s latest tablet that could replace your laptop. Now in its 4th generation, the productivity tablet with Windows 10 has finally arrived in Malaysia with a starting price of RM3,999.

Maintaining its sleek tablet form factor with a kickstand, the Surface Pro has a larger 12.3″ display (Surface Pro 3: 12.0″) that pushes a higher 2736×1824 pixels resolution. It still maintains the same footprint of 292.1mm x 201.42mm and Microsoft has managed to make it lighter at 766g and it is thinner too at 8.45mm.

Powering the device is Intel’s newest 6th gen Core processors with a variety of processor, RAM and storage options. The base model is no longer a Core i3 but a Core M3 processor that comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For those who demand the ultimate hardware, the Surface Pro 4 also comes with a Core i7 variant with 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage.

There’s a pair of stereo speakers and a 5MP camera upfront and the rear gets a 8MP shooter with auto focus. You still get a full sized USB 3.0, microSD card reader, headphone jack and a Mini DisplayPort, all encased in its Magnesium body that comes in Silver.

The optional but highly necessary Surface Pro 4 Type Cover keyboard has been massively redesigned for better typing. It gets a chiclet design that claims to be quiet and comfortable to type on. The trackpad is 40% larger and it gets a glass surface that supports 5 point multi touch.

Meanwhile the new Surface Pen gets a much needed upgrade with 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity and there’s even a eraser at the back. For a better feel and shading, there are also interchangeable pen tips. The Pen is uses a single AAAA battery that’s rated to last a whole year.
