New ASUS Zenfone Zoom variant spotted on TENAA

An ASUS smartphone has passed through TENNA’s certification and it looks to be a newer variant of the Zenfone Zoom. The phone, bearing the model number Z00XSB was reported to arrive on our shores by the end of the year.

According to TENAA, the phone features a 13-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel front camera combo. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a quad-core 2.3GHz CPU alongside 4GB of RAM. It also comes with 64GB of internal storage and will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

The phone sports an 5.5-inch IPS panel with a screen resolution of 1920×1080. Weighing in at 185 g, the smartphone’s dimensions measure in 158.9 x 78.84 x 11.95 mm, and will come in two colours, black or white.

Announced last month, the ASUS Zenfone Zoom (Z551ML) is due to arrive in Malaysia by the end of 2015. The Z551ML is said to feature a 13-megapixel sensor paired with a 10 element lens, assisted by optical image stabilisation (OIS), a dual-tone LED flash and a 3x Optical zoom all bundled into a camera module that surprisingly doesn’t protrude.

Reports indicate that the Z551ML will also come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 128GB of on-board storage, 4G LTE support and a 3,000mAh battery.
