If the Mi 4i isn’t up to your expectations, you’ll probably be pleased to know that the Mi 4 flagship can be yours at only RM899. With one “i” less, the Mi 4 gets a more upmarket metal frame and a much capable Snapdragon 801 Quad-Core processor with 3GB of RAM.

Initially Xiaomi Malaysia is offering the Mi 4 through a local distributor based at the northern states, and it carries the hefty price tag of RM1,199. Now DirectD is offering the same device for just RM899 that comes with official Xiaomi Malaysia warranty. Should you get this? The deal breaker is whether you’ll need 4G connectivity as this Mi 4 only supports up to 3G WCDMA.

The Mi 4 offers a compact 5″ display that supports 1080p Full HD resolution and it has an on-board storage of 16GB with no memory card expansion. It also gets a 13MP f/1.8 main camera and a front facing 8MP f/1.8 shooter. Keeping the lights on is a 3,080mAh capacity battery which is slightly smaller than the Mi 4i.

For the ultimate experience, the best device being offered by Xiaomi Malaysia is the Mi Note which gets a larger 5.7″ Full HD screen, Hi-Fi audio capability, and a more premium metal and glass body. Of course, the price is much higher at RM1,549 but you do get 64GB of storage and support for 4G Dual-SIMs with dual active standby. It is also worth mentioning for same price at RM899, you might want to consider the Honor 6 which has an added advantage of a microSD expansion slot.

If you’re interested with the Mi 4 (3G version), head over to DirectD’s Xiaomi Mi 4 page.
