Newly disclosed photos show S6 edge+ and S6 edge together

Samsung has been tight lipped regarding the validity of the alleged larger display of their latest anticipated device; the Galaxy S6 edge+. Although, fresh images seem to show the larger screen brother under its smaller sibling. This could provide the right edge for Samsung as they expand their range of “phablets” or large smartphones that already include the Note line.

The screen size of the new device is stated to be around the 5.5 – 5.7 size, an up from the smaller 5.1’ display. There aren’t any other notable differences except the placement of the lower microphone that sits next to the headphone jack and possibly a different processor as shown in the image below.

Essentially, those looking at purchasing the S6 edge+ will likely be looking at the same guts that powers the non-Plus phone, which for the sits high and mighty and well above other phones on the AnTuTu Benchmark ranking, except for the Galaxy S6. To jog the memory of those interested, the device is spearheaded by a Samsung Exynos 7420 running a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and  Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57 that is coupled with 3GB of RAM. The combination of the two allow the device to get score of 62,373 with other higher end devices scoring 63,424 (Mi Note Pro), 52,709 (HTC One M9), and 52,266 (LG G Flex 2).

Doubters would be clear to note that the infrared sensor is missing, though it’s expected as this could be an early prototype of the S6 edge+. Those wanting to more about the Samsung S6 edge can be sure to find our review here. August 12th is the proposed date that Samsung’s new devices will be announced.
