ZTE has come out with a hot new premium device that’s not from its Nubia series, but instead goes by the moniker Axon, which is something totally new coming from the brand.
In terms of design, it looks a lot like an early days HTC Desire or HTC One X but it comes with a premium metallic body in Ion Gold, Chromium Silver and Phthalo Blue and it also sports a dual camera configuration.
The phone was made mostly with the US market in mind, considering ZTE tends to make phones mainly focused on the Asian region only.
Under the hood, you will get an 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 soC in conjunction with 4GB RAM, 32GB non-expandable storage as well as a 5.5 inch QHD LCD display. The rear camera combo will be a 13 megapixel and 2 megapixel snappers, with dual-LED flash and 4K video capture and a 8 megapixel selfie cam up front. Powering all this is a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with quick charge support and Android 5.1.1 will be running the show. To top it off, it will have 4G LTE support.
The device will retail for $449.98 (about RM 1712) and is currently open for preorders from ZTE, with a bonus TPU case and JBL earbuds if you do. We won’t be officially getting the phone here but you can still order from Amazon, Newegg and eBay should it tickle your fancy.
