The upcoming OnePlus 2 flagship will be revealed in 3 weeks time and they have dropped another hint as we get closer to its announcement day. Expected to be a new flagship killer for 2015, the OnePlus 2 is now confirmed to be carrying a 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM which puts it on par with the likes of Xiaomi’s Mi Note Pro.

To recap what OnePlus have revealed so far, the new model will be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor but it will be clocked lower at 1.8GHz instead of 2.0GHz for better thermal efficiency. This is expected to help to optimise stability and hopefully it would result longer battery life in the long run.

In addition, the OnePlus 2 will be sporting a USB Type C reversible charging port which is a new standard that has been adopted on the new MacBook and Nokia N1 tablet. For greater security, OnePlus is including what they claim to be the most advanced fingerprint sensor and it is likely to be Qualcomm’s new Sense ID which would work even with contaminated fingertips.

In terms of price, the OnePlus will be priced higher than its current OnePlus One. All we know is it will be priced between US$322 to US$450 which is around RM1,227 to RM1,716 with our current exchange rates. With the improved specs and features, the OnePlus 2 is still priced lower than Xiaomi’s Mi Note Pro (64GB) which currently carries a price tag of 2,999 CNY (about RM1,843). The OnePlus 2 will be launched on 27th July (28th July 10AM Malaysian Time) and you can view it yourself in VR.
