New BlackBerry certified in Malaysia. Is this the new “Dallas”?

Before BlackBerry releases their Android powered device, a new Passport device is in the works with the codename Dallas/Oslo. Now it appears that Malaysia could be one of the first market to get it as a new model with the model number SQW100-4 was spotted in SIRIM.

The BlackBerry Passport carries the model number SQW100-1 and this new model looks like a new refresh of its high-end business device. The new model has yet to be announced and word has it that it could be the new Dallas variant which comes with a silver colour finish. The new BlackBerry “Dallas” was recently leaked with very similar form factor as the current Passport but it gets some subtle exterior difference.

Underneath, it gets the same 2.2GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM, 3,450mAh capacity battery and the similar set of 3-row QWERTY keys. The back also gets the same 13MP OIS camera and likely the front maintains the same 4.5″ 1440×1440 pixels resolution display. Out of the box, it should be running on a newer BlackBerry OS 10.3.2 with its own host of business solutions like Blackberry Blend and BlackBerry Assistant.

For those who feel that the Passport is too wide, your current alternatives would be the BlackBerry Leap and BlackBerry Classic.
