The much awaited OnePlus 2 finally has a launch date and its supposedly going to be the first ever phone launched in VR. Set to be launched on 27th July this year at 7PM Pacific Time (that’s about 10 AM Malaysian time the next day), the company has designed its own VR cardboard headset to let you “be there in person” with the OnePlus team and fans as the device is revealed.
The OnePlus Cardboard headset looks quite similar to that of the Google Cardboard and will accommodate devices up to six inches in size, with the brand stating that it would be easy to put together. The headset is also claimed to be made more compact and durable than bog standard cardboard headsets, inclusive of an oil repelling film to keep it from soaking up human facial oil.
They haven’t let on any new details yet but OnePlus says that you will be able to check out the phone in a whole new way and maybe even spot some extra hidden goodies during the “show”.
As for the device itself, the OnePlus Two has been confirmed to be having USB type-C connector and an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor. No new details have been leaked out yet but its a good month till the actual launch so OnePlus is likely to drop more hints as the date comes closer.
