200GB in a memory card the size of your fingernail. It’s possible and you can get it now

SanDisk launched the littlest big thing earlier this year by fitting a whopping 200GB storage capacity in a memory card the size of the fingernail on your pinkie.

The SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Premium Edition card is the highest capacity card currently available in the market. With a capacity of 200GB, the card can hold up to 20 hours of Full HD video or 1200 photos and is capable of 90MB/s transfer speeds. SanDisk has won multiple awards thanks to this card, and it’s apparently also water proof, shock proof, temperature, magnet and X-ray proof, if you happen to need to swap out your card while in an undersea volcano somewhere. It also comes backed with a 10 year warranty from SanDisk.

And if you want one, you get it now from Amazon for a very reasonable price of US$239.44 excluding postage and handling, that’s about RM900 at today’s exchange rate. There’s one slight problem though, I don’t know of any smartphone or tablet in the market at the moment that supports this monster of a microSD card.

In any case, if you must have one, check out the posting on amazon here.
