LG G4 spotted in SIRIM’s database

The LG G4 has finally been spotted in SIRIM’s database, possibly heralding the device’s official arrival in the Malaysian market.

Before this, the only way for people to get the device was through gray importers and other unofficial channels, which means consumers could be paying more for smartphones that don’t carry official warranties. That said, could it be possible that LG is gearing up for a local launch?

To recap on the specs, the LG G4 gets a similar sized 5.5″ Quad HD display (2560×1440) as the previous model but it is enhanced with better brightness and contrast ratio with its Advanced In-Cell Touch technology. Under the hood, instead of a top of the line Snapdragon 810, it runs on a Hexa Core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM. On-board there’s 32GB of on-board storage and you can also expand the storage with a microSD card.

For taking pictures, the LG G4 claims to give the most manual controls with its 16MP f/1.8 rear caemra with Optical Image Stabilisation. For taking selfies, it features a higher resolution 8MP f/2.0 front camera. Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh capacity battery that supports fast charging, wireless charging (optional Quick Circle Case required) and it is removable too. Looking at all the flagships, this is probably the only new top-end device that offers both microSD and a removable battery. However since no official announcement of the phone availability has yet to be made, its best to sit tight till LG Malaysia drops the bomb themselves.
