Need more space? ASUS introduces Zenfone 2 with 128GB storage in Taiwan

ASUS aspires to deliver high end performance at an affordable price with its Zenfone 2 smart phone series. For those who doesn’t want to worry about available storage space, ASUS has introduced a new Zenfone 2 model that comes with 128GB of storage.

Being their new top spec model (ZE551ML) with 4GB RAM, it is priced at 11,990 TWD, which is about RM1,454. Currently ASUS Malaysia is selling its top of the line Zenfone 2 ZE551ML at RM1,099 for the 32GB storage option and RM1,299 for its bigger 64GB model. The Taiwanese pricing isn’t far off at 8,990 TWD (RM1,090) for 32GB and 9,990 TWD (RM1,212) for 64GB.

The rest of the specs are the same with 5.5″ Full HD 1080p display, an Intel Atom Z3580 64-bit Quad-Core processor with 4GB RAM, 13MP main and a front facing 5MP shooter. Just in case 128GB isn’t enough, you can still add on a microSD card as well. Powering the device is a 3,000mAh capacity battery and it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. Connectivity wise, it should also support dual-SIMs with 4G LTE.

During its debut, the 128GB was initially spotted in India without any announcement. With its appearance in its home ground in Taiwan, there’s a chance that ASUS might bring this into our market. If you haven’t seen it yet, do check out our review of the ASUS Zenfone 2 (4GB RAM version). Do you really need a phone with more than 64GB of storage?
