Huawei’s next ultra-slim flagship is on its way, with the launch showing off aspects of the phone a month back. The device was spotted early at Huawei’s Malaysia ICT Roadshow and it appears to have not only a better build quality than the Huawei P7 but feels as good as the Sony Xperia Z3.
The P8 comes in two versions, the standard 5.2 inch model as well as the larger 6.8 inch model known as the P8 Max. The specs for the P8 include a Kirin 930/935 processor mated to 3GB RAM as well as an 5.2 inch 1080p display. There will be two different models with different storage capacities, the ‘standard’ edition gets 16GB internal storage and a premium one gets 64GB.
It also features the world’s first 4 colour 13 megapixel main camera that shoots in RGBW format with Optical Image Stabilisation and a 8 megapixel front snapper.
The camera also has the unique feature of built in light painting modes which require little to no settings. Just pick a type of light painting and shoot.
The device will be powered by a 2,600mAh battery which is apparently rated to last up to 1.5 days on average use. It runs on Android 5.0 with Emotion UI 3.1 out of the box as well as have dual-SIM 4G LTE support. The Huawei P8 is expected to launch on June 18th with pricing to start above the RM1,700 mark. Meanwhile the larger P8 Max is said to be released much later in Malaysia.
