Acer recently announced a new Iconia phablet called the Acer Iconia Talk S that focuses on getting you connected with dual-SIM capabilities and 4G LTE support.
Under the hood, Acer’s new phablet has a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor at 1.2GHz mated to 1GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage of up to 128GB. The Talk S is also home to a 6.9 inch HD IPS display at 720p with Zero Air Gap tech for clearer images and an Anti-Fingerprint coating for those who hate fingerprints on their glossy screens. The phablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
But the real star of the show is the dual-SIM connectivity and 4G LTE support, which lets you take advantage of two different SIMs (and therefore plans) to supplement your internet lifestyle. It can support up to a blazing fast 150Mbps download and up to 50Mbps upload speeds too, but how effective it is still depends on your plan and data connection.
The Iconia Talk S also has a rather basic 5 megapixel rear snapper as well as a 2 megapixel front camera combo and a pretty big 3780mAh battery that is rated to last up to 9 hours of full HD video playback.
The phablet will be retailed for RM799 (with GST) and will be available starting this week from local Acer retailers.
