LG G4 has arrived in Malaysia and it cost a bomb

If the latest flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9+ isn’t your cup of tea, you could probably consider this. The LG G4 looks distinctively different from the rest and is now available in Malaysia. Since LG Malaysia is still laying low in the smart phone business, local retailer DIrectD has imported a couple of units for your buying pleasure.

Just when you thought the Galaxy S6 edge was expensive, the LG G4 from DirectD is offered at RM3,799, inclusive of 6% GST. It comes in either Metal Gray, Genuine Leather Black and Leather Brown. You read that right, Genuine Leather, not “plastic made to look leather” like the Galaxy Note 3.

The LG G4 gets a similar sized 5.5″ Quad HD display (2560×1440) as the previous model but it is enhanced with better brightness and contrast ratio with its Advanced In-Cell Touch technology. Under the hood, instead of a top of the line Snapdragon 810, it runs on a Hexa Core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM. On-board there’s 32GB of on-board storage and you can also expand the storage with a microSD card.

For taking pictures, the LG G4 claims to give the most manual controls with its 16MP f/1.8 rear caemra with Optical Image Stabilisation. For taking selfies, it features a higher resolution 8MP f/2.0 front camera. Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh capacity battery that supports fast charging, wireless charging and it is removable too. Looking at all the flagships, this is probably the only new top-end device that offers both microSD and a removable battery. Out of the box it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with their proprietary UX 4.0 interface. You can read up more about the LG G4 in our announcement post.

So if you have RM3,800 to burn, you can check out DirectD stores along Federal Highway or Subang SS15, or at their LG G4 product page.
