Great news, Microsoft‘s first physical store in Asia Pacific will be opening this week in Malaysia at KLCC.

This is an interesting step for the company because the new store will not just drive sales but also give a much needed stronger local brand presence.

Previously only selling through licensed distributors and online though their webstore, Microsoft’s store is likely to be stocking not just software and their respective bundles but also their Microsoft Surface devices and Windows Phones. Located on the 3rd floor of Suria KLCC, the store should also make it easier for potential users to try their hand at new devices as well as get direct sales service should they desire to buy on the spot.

We have yet to see exactly what Microsoft has in store for us but we will soon find out.
