OPPO reveals official R7 images. Looks like a tweaked R5

OPPO’s upcoming smart phone, the R7 has been speculated with a couple of bizarre “leaks” including an edge to edge display and even a curve screen. To settle this once and for all, OPPO has finally released its official press images and it looks more down to earth than what we’ve seen so far.

True to its tradition of thinness, the R7 maintains a slim form factor and it resembles closely with its current ultra-thin OPPO R5. The polished metal frame still covers the sides but the front appears to have a slight 2.5D curvature similar to an iPhone 6.

What’s interesting is they have changed its front buttons from a 3 capacitive option to a 2 capactive + 1 physical home button, similar to Samsung. Not sure if they would include a fingerprint scanner but the possibility is definitely there. So far there’s no word on specs but we do hope that OPPO would put a larger battery this time around. We are sure most users would not mind sacrificing a couple of milimetres for an all day usage.

The OPPO R7 is expected to be launched sometime in May. Like all flagship OPPOs, you can expect faster VOOC charging that does 0-75% in 30 minutes. For the R7, we can probably expect more vibrant colours than the usual black and white options on the current R5.
