28th April will be a big day for HTC as they will be holding an event to reveal its latest flagship for the Malaysian market. While we expect the HTC One M9 to appear officially in Malaysia, its other new flagship device, the HTC One M9+ was recently spotted on SIRIM.
HTC Malaysia could be quite literal when it hinted its upcoming event to be “More Than One”.
The HTC One M9 that was announced during MWC 2015 is their 2015 flagship offering with an premium unibody metal body that’s now enhanced with a dual-tone look. The front of the One M9 is similar as its current out-going model with a 5.0″ Full HD display but underneath, it gets a top notch 64-bit Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB of on-board storage that’s expandable with microSD. The 4MP effective Ultrapixel camera this time is being moved to the front while the back now gets a higher resolution 20MP main shooter with dual-tone flash. The battery is still non-removable but it gets a larger 2,840mAh capacity.
Shortly after that, HTC had announced 2 new devices in China. The One M9+ is a bigger version of the One M9 with a 5.2″ Quad HD display but underneath it runs on a 64-bit Octa-Core MediaTek MT6795 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The camera at the back also rocks 20MP but it comes with a secondary unit for a duo camera set up. While the exterior design retains the same look and feel, it also gets a fingerprint scanner that’s mounted at the front as a home button.
Meanwhile the One E9+ is supposedly the economical version but gets a much larger 5.5″ Quad HD display. While most of the specs are the same, it is a notch down with just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which can be expanded via microSD as well. For the back camera, it settles for a single 20MP main camera.
If both HTC One M9 and One M9+ are available, which would you choose? A 5″ Full HD Snapdragon 810 unit or a 5.2″ Quad HD version with a MediaTek MT6795 processor?
