Right after unveiling its new P8 flagship, word has it that Huawei is working on a new successor for its Honor line up. The current Honor 6 is one of our favourite smart phones priced below RM1,000. Now it appears that its new Honor 7 sequel could be announced very soon.
From a couple of purported leaked shots, the new Honor flagships appears to have gone upmarket with a full unibody metal design. Also seen from the picture above is a fingerprint scanner mounted at the back. This looks quite similar with its current Ascend Mate 7 phablet that features a one touch fingerprint scanner. Also visible is a dual-tone LED flash, which should provide more natural looking photos when flash is used.
In terms of specs, the Honor 7 is said to be having a 5.5″ Full HD display and powering the device is their latest Kirin 930/935 processor with 3GB of RAM. On-board storage is mentioned to be 16GB and it should run on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1.
For a 5.5 incher, we reckon this could be a Honor 7 Plus, like its current 5.5″ Honor 6 Plus phablet, while the actual Honor 7 would likely to maintain a more compact 5″ size. In another separate set of images, there’s also another device that carries a duo-camera set up at the rear. This could be a different model or yet another prototype of the new Honor flagship.
With the usage of more market materials, the next Honor might probably be more expensive just like their latest P8. The Huawei P8 would cost close to RM2,000 for its low spec model. This is quite a jump from the Ascend P7 that was priced at RM1,499.
Like any leaks, we recommend taking this with a pinch of salt.
