LG has just outed a new generation 5.5 inch QHD IPS LCD display that has a whopping 538ppi and 120% colour gamut.
The 2,560 x 1,440 resolution display will be on the upcoming LG G4 when it launches on April 28th, with the new panel supposedly having such a high touch sensitivity that it will be able to respond to touch commands with water drops.
The contrast ratio also has been improved to be 50% higher than conventional QHD LCD panels and brightness has been bumped up by a good 30% as well. The way it does this is by using a photo-alignment technology that utilizes UV light to get the higher contrast while the better brightness is done by aligning the liquid crystals to reduce leakage.
The big question now is how the new panel would affect power consumption for the LG G4?
