Celcom to offer Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge

UPDATE: Celcom has removed its Green Emerald Galaxy S6 edge option from its product page.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will be launched in Malaysia this Thursday, 2nd April. In terms of availability, it would be on sale a few weeks after and you can expect our big 3 telcos to come out with contract options as well.

Now Celcom have just posted a teaser on their main site along with its respective product pages indicating the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are coming soon to their network. In terms of specs, Celcom is listing both devices of having 32GB, which is the minimal storage option available.

Surprisingly in terms of colours, Celcom seems to be offering all 4 colours for both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. This also includes the Green Emerald Galaxy S6 edge which Maxis claims to be exclusive to their network. Right after the launch, Maxis wants to be among the first to offer the Galaxy S6 by allowing customers to place their orders online as early as 3rd April. For Celcom, you can expect them to offer it with their new First by Celcom Postpaid plans that comes with an Optimiser that automatically adjusts your plan for more internet or voice call quota based on your usage.

To recap the specs, both models are identical on paper with a 5.1″ Quad HD (2560×1440) display, a 64-bit Octa-Core Exynos 7420 processor with 3GB of RAM and 16MP + 5MP cameras. Fresh for 2015, Samsung is using metal and glass which gives it an upmarket feel but it sacrifices a removable battery, micro-SD expansion slot and water resistance that came with its previous model. In terms of battery, the Galaxy S6 gets 2,550mAh capacity while the Galaxy S6 edge with a dual-curve display gets a slightly bigger 2,600mAh capacity battery.
