HTC One M7 might still receive Android 5.1 update

HTC One M7 users rejoice, there’s a chance that the smartphone will be getting an Android 5.1 update after all.

Recently the VP of HTC’s product management division Mo Versi stated that the One M7 was not going to get Android 5.0 but in a brand new tweet from Versi, he says that he’s heard all the comments from owners of the device and understands their concerns.

And it’s not as if they have not done decision reversals in the past, as back in 2011 HTC stated that the HTC Desire wouldn’t be updated to Gingerbread 2.3 but ended up rolling out the update for the smartphone after user complaints. The HTC One M7 has been around for about only two years and the only change for it to get Android 5.1 officially would be the HTC One M7 Google Play Edition which is targeted for an April release.

With 2 GB RAM, memory certainly isn’t an issue for the One M7, so hopefully HTC does reconsider getting out the update to Android 5.1 at the very least.
