Samsung has expanded it’s ultra rugged Xcover line of smartphones with it’s latest member; the Galaxy Xcover 3. Adhereing to MIL-STD 810G specifications that makes the smartphone ultra though by letting it withstand falls of up to 1.2 meters and with a IP67 rating,  this phone can take both high falls and a dunking to a meter of water of up to 30 minutes.

The smartphone is a little chunkier than it’s sleeker brethren but it still manages to be relatively thin at 9.95mm with all that armor, weighing at 154g.

Under the hood, the Xcover 3 will have a 4.5 inch WVGA display,  1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB internal memory that’s expandable via microSD slot, a 5 megapixel rear camera with underwater shooting mode support, 2 megapixel front camera, as well as an altimeter, compass, GPS, NFC and KNOX. The phone will also have LTE support and while it comes out out of the box with Android 4.4, it will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop at a later date.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 will be shown off at CeBit and will hit the market in April for about 275 euros (RM 1067).
