HTC One E9 spotted with a 5.5″ Quad HD display

If HTC’s One M9 is too small or too bulky, worry not, for the M9’s larger cousin the HTC’s One E9 has been leaked by Chinese regulators. So far the recent leaks point more towards a marginally larger 5.2″ for the bigger One smartphone, but this latest leak talks about a 5.5″ model.

The HTC One E9 seems to sport a flatter Desire-Eye style body, having ditched the curved back that’s featured on the M9. If the specs are accurate, the HTC One E9  will have a QHD 2660 x 1440 screen which could be a sign that a larger One M9 Plus or M9 Max could be released with a larger display, 2GHz MediaTek octa-core chip, 3GB RAM, 32GB memory with MicroSD support and a 20 megapixel rear snapper.

The “standard version” could also possibly ship with a 13 megapixel front camera while a “higher end” version could carry a low light 4 MP UltraPixel camera like the One M9, which is interesting considering that the E-series is usually seen as the economy version of the HTC One M series smartphones. One of the previous E models, the HTC One E8 had similar specs to the One M8 but was significantly cheaper by RM 700, so it’s safe to assume that the One E9 would be significantly cheaper than the One M9 as well.

Time will tell if the leaks are true.
