Sony has just locally launched the Sony NW-ZX2 High Resolution Audio Walkman.
Initially debuted at CES 2015, the media player is an interesting bit of tech; running on Android 4.2 JellyBean with 128GB of internal memory, the 4.0 inch device can last for up to 60 hours playing your favourite MP3s or 33 hours playing high res audio.
Aimed mostly at audiophiles who demand to have the very best music quality while they’re out an about; the device has a very premium looking aluminium frame and a bunch of audio-centric features lurking under the hood. Among these are an S-Master HX digital amplifier as well as Sony’s DSEE HX tech that upscales your music to sound even better. The Walkman will also support FLAC, MP3, AAC, WMA, AIFF, WAS, ALAC and DSD files as well as audio at 192kHz/24 bit, very much in the same vein as it’s predecessor the NW-ZX1.
If 128GB isn’t enough for you (if you listen to solely FLAC type files, it probably isn’t) , users can also add extra memory via the microSD slot, possibly while using their premium microSD card made just for the music minded. They’ve also further upgraded the signal path and power supply stages with high quality components for even less interference.
The Sony NW-ZX2 High Resolution Audio Walkman should be in stores effective immediately, for a rather wallet busting RM 4,999.
