SanDisk crams 200GB into a microSD card

SanDisk as just introduced their 200GB* SanDisk Ultra®microSDXC™ UHS-I card, Premium Edition microSD card at MWC 2015 that’s their biggest piece of tiny storage to date.

Last year they introduced a 128GB card from the same line and they’ve managed to shove 56% more storage into the same fingernail sized form factor specifically for mobile users that need more storage. The card also has a very fast transfer speed of 90MB/s, which is equivalent to up to 1,200 photos per minute according to SanDisk. We don’t know if phones are ready to support such a huge capacity considering the max these days is still 128GB external storage.

They have also updated their Memory Zone app to engage OptiMem app features that monitors your storage capacity and warns users when they are going to surpass user set thresholds.

However all that storage will cost you a pretty penny; SanDisk is selling their card for $399.99 (RM1451) and will hit the market worldwide in Q2.
