Huawei debuts two entry level smartphones the Y360 and Y635

Two more additions to Huawei’s entry level family tree have surfaced at MWC, namely the Huawei Y635 and the Y360.

Generally speaking the Huawei Y635 looks set to be an entry-level 4G LTE phone while the Y360 will be it’s slightly more basic sibling.

The Huawei Y635 comes in at the 5 inch mark with a 854×480 resolution 195 ppi screen and sports a 1.2GHz quad-core processor under the hood as well as a rather healthy 2,000 mAh battery. It will also feature 4GB internal memory that’s extendable via microSD. There are a lot of similarities between the two smartphones but what sets the Y635 apart from it’s sibling is that has 1GB of RAM and is supposed to have Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and that it will have 4G LTE capabilities.

More after the break.

Inside the Huawei Y360 on the other hand, you will find the same frugal 1.2GHz quad-core processor attached to a rather meager 512MB RAM. There’s also 4GB storage expandable via microSD and you will be getting a 4 inch, 854×480 resolution screen with 244 ppi that’s somewhat better than the Y635’s screen. The Y360 is lacking in the 4G LTE department as well but that could well be for the sake of keeping the price down. Huawei mentioned that the phone will be on Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box and will sport Huawei’s “Emotion UI” interface. As for the camera, the Y360 will sport a 5 megapixel rear snapper with a 2 megapixel camera on the front, and you also get a substantial 2,000 mAh removable battery.

Huawei wasn’t showcasing any working units for this model so this is all we might know for now.

So far Huawei has not confirmed any availability of pricing for the two smartphones, but there’s a high chance they will be very competitively priced.

We are in Barcelona for MWC 2015 so stay tuned for more information as it comes.
