HTC teases something Huge is coming. Could this be the One M9 Plus?

HTC will be announcing its latest One M9 flagship in Barcelona next Sunday and there’s a possibility that more than one device will be announced. HTC USA has tweeted a couple of teasers indicating something huge is coming very soon.

We don’t expect anything huge from its One M9 as it is likely to retain its more compact 5″ dimensions like the current One M8. However there’s a possibility that HTC might do an Apple style iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus announcement, with 2 distinctive sizes.

So could this be a replacement of the ageing 5.9″ HTC One Max? Not really, according to a purported benchmark of a new HTC 0PK71 model.

On the hardware info, it is shown with a marginally larger 5.1″ display that does a Quad HD 2560×1440 pixels reslution. In terms of processor, it is listed carrying a 1.9GHz MediaTek MT6795 unit with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage on-board. While it isn’t a top of a line Qualcomm processor, the MediaTek MT6795 is a high end 64-bit True Octa-Core processor that could take on the Sapdragon 810 powerhouse. The rest of the purported hardware also includes a 20MP main camera and interestingly, a larger 13MP front selfie camera.

Like anything unannounced, we would take this with a pinch of salt for now. If HTC is planning to make a bigger variant, it should have a much larger display to differentiate itself with the HTC One M9.
