Samsung Galaxy Note Edge users in Australia will be getting Android 5.0.1 Lollipop rolled out for their devices very soon, with the brand already having made the update available for the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 in various markets.
The OTA update has a huge file size of 1018.12 MB, which is much enormous compared to the Android 4.4.4 update which weighed in at 487 MB. Android 5.0 brings Material Design to the user interface as well as a handful of new features and improvements to existing ones like heads-up notifications, a better notification system, brand new multitasking UI, Android Smart Lock and multiple user accounts are among the features that users will be getting. On top of that the update should bring improvements to battery life, security and overall performance of the device.
We don’t know when we would get this update locally but if you’re in Australia you can check for the update manually by going to Settings >>About phone >> Software update menu or get the firmware directly from Sammobile.
Check out the walk-through video after the break.
