Meizu will be announcing a new smart phone tomorrow which will be a smaller version of its affordable m1 Note. If you’re still unconvinced on how it looks like, the VP of Meizu, Li Nan has posted a photo of the device from his Weibo account.
Like previous leaks, the mini version of the m1 Note will come with a similar iPhone 5C-like appearance but it gets a notch down in terms of hardware. From the picture, it uses a standard single LED flash as opposed to a more natural-lit dual-tone LED flash light on its bigger model.
In terms of size, the m1 mini is said to be having a 5″ display but apparently it will be more compact than its direct rival, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 that comes with a smaller screen. Based on the side by side comparison image above, the m1 mini has thinner bezels and a shorter height as compared to the Redmi 2.
Spec wise, the m1 mini is expected to offer 4G LTE with dual SIMs, and it will be powered by a MediaTek 64-bit processor. We expect the m1 mini to be priced competitively considering its m1 Note with a 5.5″ Full HD display is going for just 999 CNY (about RM576) for the 16GB version and 1,199 CNY (about RM691) for the 32GB unit.
With Meizu having official presence in Malaysia, you can expect both the m1 Note and m1 mini to be available here as well. Currently the Meizu MX4 is already in the market from RM1,099 and its flagship MX4 Pro phablet which could go on sale next month.
