The Motorola Nexus 6 is now available in Malaysia but get ready to pay a hefty price for it

UPDATE: Tonya informed us via the comments section that you can get the Nexus 6 cheaper from TechBug. The online retailer is selling the 64GB Nexus 6 for RM2,850. They also have the 32GB version at RM2,650. But there’s a catch, if you’re getting the Nexus 6 from TechBug get ready to wait 4-8 WEEKS before you can get your device. So what will it be? Pay the hefty price and get it now or wait?

The Motorola Nexus 6 is the best pure Android experience you can get right now and it’s available in Malaysia but you better get your wallets ready because you’re going to be paying a hefty price for this high-end piece of kit.

Available as a grey import from DirectD, the Nexus 6 will set you back RM3,399 for the top-spec 64GB/3GB RAM version.

Why should you get the Nexus 6? Well if you’re a fan of the pure Android experience and must have the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, this is the phone for you. It is the purest iteration of the Android smartphone genre there is, and it’s a pretty good device as well.

You get the ultimate in terms of processing power with a 2.7GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 805 processor that’s mated to the aforementioned 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

If that’s not enough, the 5.96-inch display packs a Quad HD AMOLED display — that’s a whopping 1440×2560 pixels or 493 ppi! The panel is toughen with Gorilla Glass 3 for good measure. Like the latest Moto models, the Nexus 6 gets a pair of front stereo speakers as well. In the imaging department you get a 13MP f/2.0 rear camera complete with optical image stabilisation. Illumination for the main camera is provided by a ring shaped twin LED flash that’s also found on the Moto X. Meanwhile the front gets a modest 2MP camera for selfies.

In the battery department, the Nexus 6 packs a 3,220mAh powerhouse (similar in capacity with the Galaxy Note 4). Motorola say you can get a full 24 hours of usage from a single charge. That’s impressive but it doesn’t beat the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact when it comes to battery stamina. Motorola also say that the battery is can deliver 6 hours of usage from just 15 minutes of charge time.

There are some down sides with the Nexus 6. The battery is non-removable and there’s no microSD card slot, that’s a bummer for a lot of people. Also, the device is crazy beefy, 10mm thick and 184 grams heavy.

Both colours — Midnight Blue and Cloud White — are available and yes, it supports Malaysia’s LTE bands. More details on the Nexus 6 from DirectD, here.
