Xiaomi new flagship smart phone launch happening next week

Xiaomi will be launching a new flagship device this month as mentioned by its President, Bin Lin recently. Now they have officially marked 15th January as the launch date and it will be held at their home ground Beijing.

Slimness is said to be the main focus for its new flagship device and if the earlier alleged leaked shots are true, the new Mi 5 or Mi 4S could be having an ultra-thin bezel design. The new device is rumoured to be upsized from a 5.0″ screen in its current Mi 4 to 5.5″ with a possible Quad HD resolution screen. To keep up with the new high-end smart phones, it could be running at least a Snapdragon 805 processor with 3GB of RAM.

It was also speculated that the new device would offer a fingerprint scanner. However from a recent Q&A video with Hugo Barra, Xiaomi doesn’t seem to be implementing it soon until it is natively supported on Android. For us folks in Malaysia, we have yet to receive the Mi 4 officially, and they probably might as well skip that and offer the upcoming flagship instead.
