This is the future of personal storage, 1TB of capacity in a form factor that’s no larger than a credit card, all made possible thanks to solid state drives. The Samsung Portable SSD T1 is a USB 3.0 portable storage that makes the most out of SSD technology and if you can call portable storage drives sexy, this one would be is.

Powered by Samsung’s 850 EVO chips, the SSD T1 is cable of 450 MB/s read and write speeds. Options include a 250GB version that costs US$180 (about RM640), a 500GB for US$300 (about RM1,066) and a 1TB US$600 (that’s an eye-watering RM2,133). Yes, SSD drives are expensive, portable or otherwise, but if cutting-edge is your thing and speed is something you expect from a portable storage then there’s really no other way to go that with SSDs.

No official word on when the Samsung SSD T1 will be coming to Malaysia but you should be able to get one online sometime before February.

More on the Samsung SSD T1, here.
