DiGi offers the Alcatel Pop 2, an affordable 4G smart phone for Free

If you’re looking for a 4G LTE smart phone bundle on a budget, DiGi is now offering the Alcatel Pop 2 smart phone for free with its Smart Plan 78. At RM78/month, the Smart Plan 78 offers 2GB of data (1GB for Smart Apps such as Facebook, Twitter, WeChat and WhatsApp), 200 minutes of calls and 200 SMS each month. The contract is tied with a 24 months duration and you’ll need fork an extra RM384 as advance payment, which will be rebated back to your monthly bills.

The Alcatel Pop 2 is yet another entry-level 4G LTE smart phone that’s similar to the OPPO Neo 5. It gets a modest 4.5″ display that does 854×480 and it runs on a newer 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB of RAM. On-board it gets 8GB of storage which can be expanded via microSD and also included is a 5MP main camera capable of shooting Full HD 1080p videos. Over at the front, it settles for a standard VGA camera. Powering the device is a 2,000mAh capacity which is quite decent for its spec.

The device is also available on the higher Smart Plan 108 and Smart Plan 148 options. However if you’re willing to commit to a higher plan, you’re better off with a better device like the Redmi Note 4G that’s also offered for free.
