Sony sets up Underwater Experience Store in Dubai

Sony is obsessed with its waterproof capabilities on its Xperia smart phone and tablets, that they have created an underwater experience centre in Dubai. Called the Xperia Aquatech Store, visitors would need to put on their diving gear in order to get into this concept store located 4 meters under the sea. The underwater store was just a temporary set up for a couple of days.

For those who were lucky enough to be invited, had to undergo some basic diving lessons in a swimming pool before they are accompanied into the actual store. The store itself is like a bubble outpost which is partially filled with water.

As the depth is beyond the recommended 1.5 metre limit (IP68 rating) for the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, owners would need to put on a special case if they plan on bringing their device in. This is quite an experience like no other. If you’re curious to know how it is like inside, head after the break for the video and photos taken during the event.
