With Xiaomi expanding rapidly with its cheap and cheerful smart phones, Meizu needs to increase its presence as well as its product line up. After announcing the MX4 and MX4 Pro this year, the aspiring Chinese brand is said to be working on an affordable model that will not sacrifice too much on specs.
Currently codenamed as the Meizu K52, the specs were discovered through GFXBench with a compact 4.6″ Full HD screen. Powering the device is a newer MediaTek 1.7GHz Octa-Core MT6752 (Cortex-A53) processor that’s 4G LTE and 64-bit ready. It is mated with 2GB of RAM and likely to come with 16GB of on-board storage.
Pricing wise it is speculated to be around 1,000 CNY which is about RM568. Can Meizu give Xiaomi’s Redmi series a run for its money? We will find out soon enough as the new mid-ranger is expected to be announced today.
