Upcoming Honor 6 Plus has twin 8MP cameras for depth of field

The Honor 6 is currently our favourite sub-RM1,000 smart phone which comes with 4G LTE. In less than 2 weeks from now, they will be announcing a newer Honor 6 Plus in China, that packs a larger 5.5″ screen and an interesting dual 8MP camera set up at the back. From the looks of it, HTC is getting some serious challenge for its famed Duo Camera set up found on the HTC One M8 and Butterfly 2.

Ahead of its official launch on 16th December, several shots allegedly taken from the Honor 6 Plus had surfaced, revealing its depth of field capabilities. From the pictures, it does offer a similar experience to Nokia’s Refocus app or HTC One M8’s Duo Camera mode where you can select to have the foreground, background or all in focus.

In terms of specs, it is speculated that the Honor 6 Plus will be powered with a similar Octa-Core Kirin 925 processor clocked at a higher 1.8GHz and is mated to 3GB of RAM. Apart from going one up in screen size to 5.5″ Full HD, it also gets a larger 32GB storage capacity. The Honor 6 Plus is rumoured to be priced at 3,300 CNY which is about RM1,850.

You can check out the Honor 6 Plus camera samples after the break.
