HTC Desire 620 now official. Its new affordable mid-range offering

The HTC Desire 620 which was shown in its full glory is now official. Interestingly the Desire 620 comes in 2 variants – a Snapdragon 410 version with 4G connectivity and a Desire 620G variant with a 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 Octa-Core processor that’s similar with the Redmi Note. On top of that, both models will support dual-SIM.

The rest of the specs are quite identical with a 5″ HD 720p display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage which is expandable using microSD. In terms of maximum microSD capacity, the Qualcomm can support up to 128GB while the MediaTek version is limited to just 32GB. For imaging it gets an 8MP BSI camera sensor while selfies are handled by its 5MP unit. Like the recent HTC Desire EYE, it also comes with a host of new camera features with its EYE Experience. Similarly it also gets its famed BoomSound front stereo speakers.

Powering the device is a 2,100mAh capacity battery, which is a slight increase over its current Desire 610 with 2,040mAh capacity. Both device are currently launched in Taiwan with the Desire 620 (with 4G LTE) being priced at 6,990 TWD (about RM770) while the Desire 620G carries a 4,990 TWD (RM550) price tag. So far there’s no word of its international availability but overall, this looks like an affordable offering for those looking for a dual-SIM smart phone under RM1,000.
