U Mobile offers Free Internet Roaming on Prepaid

U Mobile was the first telco to offer free internet roaming at selected countries for its postpaid subscribers. Now prepaid users are now able to enjoy Free Internet Roaming too and they have also extended several countries for its unlimited internet roaming service.

The Free Internet Roaming is limited to 50MB per day, which is sufficient enough for basic instant messaging such as WhatsApp, Line and WeChat. If you do exceed the 50MB/day limit, subsequent use would be charged at a maximum of RM30/day.

In terms of countries, the Free Roaming for prepaid is applicable to Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. For those travelling to China, Macau and South Korea, U Mobile is offering unlimited roaming at RM30/day while Vietnam is offered at RM36/day. Just make sure you’re connected to the right network before you enable Data Roaming on your phone.

Before leaving the country, you would need to top up a minimum of RM50 in order for your free 50MB/day roaming service is activated. To check if you’re eligible, you can dial *118*6*3*2# for the latest status.

Compared to its postpaid offering, the supported roaming countries for prepaid is much limited, so take note of the difference. According to U Mobile’s site, this promotional offer is valid until 30th June 2015. For more information, head over to U Mobile’s Internet Roaming page.
