Viber adds Mobile Video Calls and further improves user experience

Viber, the mobile communications platform on Android and iOS that offers free messaging and HD-quality phone calls, had recently released their system wide update Viber 5.0. They have also released newer software updates for desktop applications on Windows and Mac OS X. Viber 5.0 comes with a slew of powerful new features and enhancements, including making video calls from your smart phone.

Apart from video calls, being the most noticeable new feature, Viber 5.0 also has simplified their methods managing your contacts, simply by adding their Viber number or scanning a QR code, along with a number of new OS specific features such as:

iOS: Users can manage sticker packs more easily, toggle sticker packs on or off, reorder sticker packs, as well as easily forward photo messages.

Android: A brand new interface that’s designed for fun and ease of access

Viber has also made improvements to its desktop application for Windows, Windows 8 and OS X:

Desktop v4.3: Includes a new and improved design, a fun backgrounds gallery and many improvements and bug fixes.

Windows 8 v3.2: Features a new and improved design, an updated snap mode with stickers, emoticons and notifications. Other highlights and bug fixes include an easier way to search contacts, the ability to see online contacts from the home screen and PNG support for photo messages.
