Sony to release a CyberShot Selfie Camera that looks like a perfume bottle

The Chinese do love taking selfies as evidenced by the fact that most cameras on smart phones from China come with epic facial beautification features. After having their own Selfie-focused smart phone, the Xperia C3, Sony appears to be releasing a CyberShot camera just for that purpose.

Move aside channel perfume phone cases, this is the the real bling. Targeting women, the device is designed like a perfume bottle with a glass-looking camera module that can be rotated horizontally. In terms of specs, the camera is said to be rocking a 1/2.3″ sensor that shoots 19.2MP pictures, which is pretty high res for a handheld selfie shot. Never mind if you have shaky hands, as there’s Optical Image Stabilisation and it can transfer your photos over to your smart phone using WiFi and NFC. The device is said to be 20.1mm thick and weighs 136 grams including its battery.

It is reported that the selfie cameras are currently seeded to Chinese female influencers and models ahead of its purported 22nd August launch. Would you need another camera just to take selfies? Check out more images of the CyberShot Selfie cam after the break.
