Telekom Malaysia has officially launched TMgo, marking its foray into the 4G broadband space. This is a technology refresh of its earlier CDMA offering which aims to provide faster broadband across different segments. The TMgo 4G service is based on LTE running at 850MHz, which is able to deliver download speeds up to 20Mbps.

Catering for both single and multiple user scenarios, you have a choice between a personal USB 4G Mobile Adapter and a 4G Mobile router. Since this is a prepaid service, you would need to purchase a device starter pack and subsequent you would need to top up from their variety of options to suit your usage.

Plans & Devices

Both devices are offered as a starter pack bundle with the USB stick costing RM115 while the wireless MiFi hotspot is priced at RM315. What you’ll get is 2GB of data that comes with 30 days validity. As a new subscriber, they are giving 500MB free for the next 6 months, which is valid with an active subscription. Both devices are supplied by D-Link which would require a SIM Card to operate.

Reload

There are a total of 3 top up options which offers different validity periods and data quota. The minimum RM10 gives you 1GB of data for 7 days while RM30 gives you 3.5GB for a month. For those who use a lot, you can opt for 6GB at RM50 which is valid for 60 days.

To make the deal sweeter, TMgo is also giving additional bonus data quota as well. In terms of cost per GB, it is quite competitive against other wireless providers at RM10/GB for its entry level offering and it can go as low as RM8.3/GB with its highest top up option.

Coverage

At the moment, TMgo is present in the state of Kedah and Melaka. For Kedah, their coverage areas include Baling, Sik, Bandar Baharu, Pendang, Kota Setar and Padang Terap. Meanwhile for Melaka, TMgo currently covers Melaka Tengah and Alor Gajar. You can check out the coverage areas below:
