Gionee GN9005, the world’s slimmest phone at 5mm gets leaked again

For those obsessed with ultra-thin smart phones, Gionee is having a razor thin 5.0mm smart phone with their upcoming GN9005 model. Initially caught during its certification process, the device is now spotted in a fresh batch of leaked photos.

Seen in black colour, the GN9005 is said to be having a mid-spec offering with a 4.8″ HD 720p display and a quad-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM. It is also rumoured to be packing a decent 2,050mAh capacity battery, a 8MP main camera and a front facing 5MP unit. So far there isn’t any new information on its launch or hardware spec.

With a mid-spec offering, it would be hard to justify the GN9005 is it is positioned as a premium device. Their previous ultra-slim offering is the Gionee Elfie S5.5 at 5.5mm thick. In Malaysia, the thinnest smart phone with 4G LTE available right now is the Huawei Ascend P7 at 6.5mm.
