ASUS ZenFone 5 gets a bunch of fixes with latest update

If you’re using the ASUS ZenFone 5 in Malaysia, they are now pushing a new software update that’s about 30MB in size. While it isn’t the new Android 4.4 KitKat that many would hoped for, it improves the ZenFone 5 in several areas including WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity, power consumption, telephony, audio and software stability.

The latest firmware carries the version number WW_user_1.15.40.35 and it is updated automatically over the air. If you haven’t received any notification yet, you can check it manually under Settings > About > System Update. Take note that this is for official ASUS Malaysia units which comes with 2GB of RAM instead of its earlier announced 1GB variant.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you can view our hands-on with the ASUS ZenFone series as well as our 5 way camera shootout where we included the ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 5.
