52,800 ZTE Nubia Z7 smart phones sold out under 5 minutes

The ZTE Nubia Z7 smart phone series have finally gone on sale in China today. Following its instant flash sale trend of other Chinese brands, its debut saw 52,800 units being sold out in just 4 minutes and 36 seconds.

The sale is just not just one but 3 models – the Nubia Z7 with its Quad HD display, the Nubia Z7 Max and the Nubia Z7 mini. So far ZTE/Nubia has yet to provide a breakdown of its models but it is likely that its Nubia Z7 flagship device with its Quad HD display is taking the bulk of the orders. Last month, HTC too had a flash sale of its own where they have sold out 50,000 units of its One E8 in just 15 minutes.

It is quite remarkable that ZTE has managed to sell so many units in a record time. The Nubia Z7 may be high in specs but the price isn’t compelling enough to get people to part ways with their hard earned cash immediately. In China, the Nubia Z7 is priced at 3,456 Yuan (about RM1,767) and it comes with a 5.5″ Quad HD display, 2.5GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. While the specs look similar to the Oppo Find 7, the Nubia 7 stands out with a 13MP main camera that is supported with Optical Image Stabilisation.
