LG G3 has announced its new LG G3 Beat, its mid-tier variant of their current LG G3 flagship. Like most mini offerings in the market, the LG G3 Beat retains the similar floating arc metallic design but gets shrunk with a smaller 5″ display. The specs are a step down with a 5″ IPS display that does HD 720p resolution (294ppi) and it runs on a mid-tier 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage via microSD.
The battery is smaller too at 2,540mAh capacity while the camera gets a step back at 8MP. For taking selfies, the front gets a modest 1.3MP camera. LG hasn’t taken away all of its new tricks as the LG G3 Beat also gets its fast Laser AutoFocus feature and it also supports 4G LTE connectivity. Overall it is 10.3mm thick and weighs 134 grams. It is currently running on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat with LG’s new flat UI design. It is available in South Korea starting tomorrow and it will be rolled out internationally a few weeks later. Outside of Korea, the LG G3 Beat would be called as the LG G3 S.
